About Fuyao

1977 – 1986

Mr. Cho Tak Wong sub-contracted a small glass plant and restructed it into auto glass manufacutring plant. The plant ceased the production shortly after Mr. Cho decided to set up Fujian Yahua Glass Industry Co. Ltd at current location in Fuqing.


Fujian Yahua Glass Industry Co. Ltd. was established.


started supplying OEM glass for Audi that was produced by FAW (First Auto Works)

1991 Sep

First Shipment of auto glass for North American replacement market left the factory.


IPO and public listed in Shanghai Stock Exchange (600660)


  • ISO9002 Quality Management System was certified.
  • The company was restructured and renamed as “Fuyao Glass Industry Group Co. Ltd” (Fuyao Group or FYG).

  • 2000 Sep

    Fuyao Changchun Auto Glass was set up in North East China, the first manufacturing plant outside home province of Fujian.


    Started supplying OEM glasses for China oversea market.


    Acquired Tong Liao Manufacturing Plant located in Inner-Mongolia to explore the technology of float glass production.


    Offically entering into international high-end OEM market by signing supply agreement with Audi Europe.


    Along with setting up of Hubei Auto Glass manufacutring plant, Fuyao has well established a national auto glasses production bases network including Fujian, Changchun, Shanghai, Chongqing and Guangzhou to enjoying the rapid growth of China Automotive Industry in the following 10 years.


  • Global market share reached 15%, reached the sales of 100 million units of auto glass in 2009
  • Chairman Cho Tak Wong stood out among other representatives from 43 countries and regions in the world, was awarded with the “Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur of the Year”, becoming the first Chinese winner for the prize.

    Establishing Fuyao Russian Plant, the first auto glass manufacturing plant in China oversea.


    Purchased PPG’s Float Glass Plant in Mt. Zion, IL USA, and upgrading the production lines


    H-share IPO at Hong Kong Stock Exchange (3606)

    2016 Oct

    World largest auto glass production plant entered into official production, created 2000 manufacutring jobs for Dayton, OH.
